Durable 1 or 2 gal pump sprayer recommendation?
Default Durable 1 or 2 gal pump sprayer recommendation?

I use a 1 gal pump spray from the local hardware store to water/fertilize my epiphytes. Something like shown on amazon.

The problem is, that to fill the tank, you have to unscrew the plunger. After a year of daily screw-unscrew, the connection between the handle and the plunger is about to break.

They are sufficiently cheap, but I don't want to have to throw them out after a year, and to contribute to the landfill. Any suggestions as to very durable models, makes. Or those that should be avoided?

This one from Gilmour with an outside collar looks better. Any opinions?

Even the non pro sprayers at the box stores have parts available, usually all the rubber gaskets. Of course, they come in a package with all of them when you probably only want the major one!

Keithrs: got mine at the Home Depot. Don't recall what I paid for it but don't think it was $60.

Eggshell and Cym ladye: well, the pump handle is about to break, so that is essentially the main piece, not really a "spare part".

You can get a fairly good one for $40 or so.... Get one that has a release valve... If you keep pressure in it all the time or try to build a crap load of pressure you will blow the seals. Also if you get fertilizer in the pump and it drys, you will rip you seals from the salt build up. I rinse mine and put a few drops of mineral oil in the pump to keep the seal from drying out. Also find one that has a good valve in the wand.
