For those looking live spaghnum moss, I've had success buying it from bonsai growers. It's not cheap, but I really like how it looks.

Wow, I am blown away by this thread. Funny how you think you have something figured out and then along comes a new way of doing things.

RJ, thank you. I have to admit that at first I was incredulous. I was thinking, how can you avoid root rot without air circulation. Then I realized that the amount of air circulation in your bowls is no different than what you would find in a plastic pot or even a clay pot. So I am going to bump this thread up (Thanks Estación Seca for directing us here) and give your method a try with some Masdie cutting I have. I'm officially excited!!!

Ok I actually just got around to doing this now because I had a masdie with zero roots. I'm crossing my fingers and well, what have I got to loose?
