Default bud blast

I had two buds blast on a plant. I knew they were going to blast almost immediately. Both buds had little dents (for a lack of a better word) at the top. I wish I would have taken a photo.
Can anyone explain the depressions I noticed. The plant went on to produce two blooms.

Most times buds blast because something changed that the plant doesn't like.... Heat, cold draft, watering, humidity..... ect.

too much water and the buds were water logged maybe?..or not enough and they dried out?

I think its water or humidity related when the buds do that. I'm a Noob and I can prove it

did you take the bud apart and look at it? When that happens I like to cut them open and look at them see whats in there . Maybe you can find a bug or something like a mealy like that was eating it ya know.

hmm - I have a catt intergeneric which is spiking for the third time for me - twice it has lost a couple of the buds early on, for no reason I can tell - plant not moved, no evidence of pests, plant growing extremely well, and looks healthy

wish I knew

Did the flowers open or change color before it dropped?

Could it be genetics that caused the dimmples? Some times this kind of thing happens with hybrids.

Thumper, I'm having a similar problem with one of the Lc's I bought from SBOE.

The plant has two spikes this year. On one spike, the buds formed perfectly and they are growing normally.

On the second spike, the buds look a bit shrivelled and hard. The little covering on the bud (I don't know the term for it) failed to separate from the buds themselves. They are starting to look dry.

I had this happen to it last year as well. I don't know if I will keep the plant if it keeps doing it.
