Wetting/sticking Agents ? Male
Default Wetting/sticking Agents ?

I am thinking of using a wetting/agent "Spray N Grow Coco" on my Vandas when I apply Clearys 3336.
Has any one had experience with a wetting agent? I understand some Vanda growers (Martin Mote for one) use one because of the waxy nature of the leafs.
I also wounder if I could use it when I combine Cleary 336 with a fert.?

A quick check at Clearys web site shows that they sell a product, ClearSpray T/O, just for this. Spreader-sticker, anti-desiccant and anti-transpirant. But it appears the product is only available in 2.5 gal. containers.

Some people use dawn dish soap as a wetting agent. Few drops per gallon. Some also use wetting agents when they fertilizers.... Like Orchids Unlimited Jungle Food.

Many people make insecticidal soap with dawn or some other form of dish soap. Just add some veggie oil and you have a insecticidal oil.

I used to be in the dishwashing detergent crowd myself, until I read about the phytotoxicity of some synthetic soaps.

I have used Ivory dishsoap, although I recently purchased an official Sticker/Spreader. The brand escapes me.

Thanks you all for your reply.
I emailed Martin Mote and his reply was:

Capt. Frank; You can combine the Potasium nitrate and Salt Peter with the Cleary's and the orthene either separately or together. Don't use fertilizer containing phosphorus with sprays.

Wetting agents and spreader stickers are good.

All the best,

Martin
