Be careful it's not one of these ugly buffo toads (look up on internet). We get a lot of them because I live on water. Very dangerous to any dog or cat you have. They are poisonous. I learned the hard way when my black lab encountered one and ended up poisoned. He later died! I don't think regular frogs are bad...if anything they might eat bugs.

That really sucks!! Sorry to hear that. I think you are talking about the cane toad, Bufo marinus. Those can actually squirt a mouthfull of poison to its attacker. Lots of dogs and cats die each year around the world because of this. Australia has a huge problem with them.

Ok, frog update.

The last time I saw the frog it was about 1/2 the circumference of a 6.5 inch pot.

I saw the frog yesterday. IT'S HUGE!!!!!!! If I cup my hands together, it would barely fit inside. I was horrified. Thankfully it is NOW away from my orchids. I've no idea what it's eating.

After what beezermommy and Tindomul suggested I would be a bit cautious. Best to ID though to be sure.
Does it look like this?

You should avoid scaring it. Their poisons are irritating to humans at best.

The frogs compliment the orchids. This is a picture of one that I saw a few days ago that was spending the day asleep on the window sill. I have lots of the little green tree frogs but I have never seen this variety before. When I was taking the picture I noticed that he only has one eye.
