I haven't seen the stem that long before but I've heard of it happening. I don't think it is anything to do with the media it's growing in though.

Either way it's impressive.

I almost killed it at first but it has but it has recovered from one small growth to the plant in the picture. It has taken around 2 years. This is it's first flowering. It has a new growth that is almost mature. Can't wait to see what happens next. Deb

I have one that I bought as a seedling about 5 years ago. I'm hoping it blooms this year. I used to grow most of my plants in SH, but media is difficult to buy here on Vancouver Island. No one even has Spagnum!
