Cold Frames and Hoop Houses

I know there are some nursery owners and big scale growers on this forum so my questions are to you guys.
Do you use industrial cold frames or hoop houses? If you do how are they maintenance wise?
I was looking at a property a few days ago. We are trying to move to a local with a good-sized parcel of land to build a new house and expand my growing - working space. The land that I went to see had several hoop houses located on it. Their condition wasn't perfect but they have potential.These have heaters, watering systems..the works. It was exciting and at the same time made me nervous. I would love (need) the room for my ideas but..would the maintenance and upkeep kick my butt over time?

I'd love advice! I really want to plan for the future but I also don't want to buy into a nightmare money pit.
