Talking Humidity and Light Meters

Hello.

I need/want to purchase the above items. However, I'm clueless as to what brand and model I should get? If you own either/or both, can you recommend a brand and model? Where'd you buy it?

Thanks.

I've seen some on Ebay(i'm looking for a light meter too) but i dunno either. It seems that all of the good light meters are quite expensive also...<O.o>?

I bought my Temp/Humidity meter at Lowe's. It was relatively cheap and easy to find.

CalWest has a Light Intensity Meter. It's not digital, but could be a good start. http://www.calwesttropical.com/index...ntensity-meter

Hope this helps.

I bought this light meter and a temp/ humidity indicator from FS Professional Light Meter for Orchids - Orchid Board - Most Complete Orchid Forum on the web !
The readings I get from the light meter are consistant with other peoples readings at known distances from fluorescent bulbs(T12 & T8's). For the price of the meter and the fact I only use it once every couple of months, I feel it was worth purchasing. A light meter is certainly something you need if you want to grow under lights. What our eyes perceive as bright light, is totally different to the plants.

I carry a very good quality light meter from Hydrofarm (I started doing so at the recommendation of folks here), and it is excellent for the orchid grower.

I am not so "hot" on the accuracy of over-the-counter, analog humidity gauges. I have used them, but they are often as much as 10% off. I have checked a few using a NIST certified one (don't even ask about the price of those - mine was a gift from a former boss), and while some can be quite good, another, identical one can be off.

I stated carrying a digital hygrometer/thermometer a short while ago, and it is getting good reviews from customers.
