Default Criteria for Discussions

I an new to this forum and don't know all the rules and maybe my question has been asked before but.....Was wondering if there was a criteria for the various types of discussions? Is the "beginner discussion" someone with 6 or less orchids, or less than 1 yr. experience or other? Same for advance discussion? I also noticed Jr. or Sr. under one's name. When or how does one go from one category to another?

Hi Don...

the Beginner Forum and Advanced Forum are not guided by any numerical facts. We have lots of members who have one orchid...or who haven't made that all-important first purchase yet. The info in the Beginner Forums would most help those people but that's not to say that somebody with 200 plants might not learn something there

The Advanced forum has questions and answers that might come up once you've progressed in the hobby a bit...or if you'd like to progress "ahead of schedule".

I hope this has helped

The begginner forum is for questions like, what is that, what is this, can I do that. You might have one or two questions like that if you grow 300 Phals, and about to grow your first Masdie.
On the other hand, you post in the advanced forum if you have questions about techniques, new trends in culture, new trends in hybridizing, etc..... Thats what I would consider the guidlines for these forums.

Hi Don,
User titles are based on the number of posts made by each user. They change from Jr. Member to Member after 30 posts and from Member to Senior Member after 100 posts.
