Repotting- Soak plants together? Female
Default Repotting- Soak plants together?

quick q --- if i have a few bare root plants, and want to repot them, must I soak them individually or is it a problem if I want to do a communal soak- my main concern is virus. Can virus be transmitted with water soak- after the soak I will be cutting and playing with the roots....
Thanks
Suzie

edit:: after asking a few reliable sources, jerry, gin, harry, maria- i think its safest to do them one by one!
Thanks guys

Yes, you can transmit viruses and other things that way. You should soak the plants individually in new water and sterilize your tools before and after you have cut roots.

I don't know of any research regarding virus transfer from soaking them together, but I would think it'd be better not to.

I spray mine individually instead of soaking. I wouldn't soak together though. good luck with the potting!!
