I went to the orchid show in London on the weekend, I was only going to pick up one order from Cloud's. I wasn't going to buy anymore plants, some books if they had what I wanted. No books, and of course I just had to get one plant in flower(has 6 spikes, 3 in bloom, and 3 just spiking out) and it smells kinda like a spicy rose. http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...h_110_1024.jpg, and I got my Phal Mini Mark Holm (has a flowered spike, will it branch?) I got a little carried away :blushing::blushing: ended up with a dozen orchids total..:blushing::blushing: Hubby wasn't even upset said he got lots of his toys off eBay, and I don't get upset so fair is fair. I have a very understanding Hubby. Did I mention it was a 2 hr drive to the show:evil: which was closer then the 4 hr drive to Cloud's Orchids.

I have a question for you. I went to Green Acres a couple weeks ago and bought several orchids. 3 of the vandas have JVB in them. They are all rather tall, very nice looking plants but, all 3 show no signs of having bloomed before. What do you know about JVB and is it difficult or slow to bloom? She grows her vandas it pots and I prefer hanging wood baskets. It took me a while to repot 8 vandas. I ran out of baskets and had to place an order 3 for more. They are all repotted now. I took a while because I always try to remove 1 or 2 slats from the bottom to be able to thread the long roots through. I just love Cindy, she is so nice and great to deal with. Sometimes you need to wait for an answer to an e-mail because she is a fire fighter and works long hour streches at a time. Marilyn |

Bob, I do that all of the time. UPS was at my house twice this week. I got Dendrobium Aussie's Chip in a 3" pot and only five inches tall with lots of flowers and buds and also several other interesting things.
You must post pics of the Dr. Anek hybrids. They are sure to be stunning. I am posting a pic of the Den. before the packing was removed. I was inspired to order this plant because of one of the posts on this forum like a lot of other plants I have gotten. This forum causes compulsion. Does anyone else have this "illness"? |
Marilyn, V. JVB (Josephine Van Brero) grows to be a very large plant but once it obtains flowering size it flowers two or three times a year where I live. It is 1/2 Vanda teres so that is why it grows so tall.
Beverly, you made reference to the next project. Tell me about it please. |
