Default How can I bring my orchid back to life?

This is all that is left of what was once a beautiful orchid. The two small buds are attached to a piece of lava rock. Can anyone suggest a way to bring this plant back?

Did you mean to put a picture into your post? Whats all that is left.

Aboard Joe, thank you for joining our community, its a great place and a wealth of information awaits.

In regards to your question, can you give us some idea of what we are referring to what type of orchid a photo would be wonderful...

Only good Dendrobium is a dead dendrobium I'd say this is what most dendros look like for me.

I seriously doubt.....(unless there is a miraculous healing) this plant is going to make it. But stranger things have happened. Mist it, put it in a shady spot and don't over-water.

Preach on!

Joe, consider this a chance to start over with something better, like a nice Paph.

Looks pretty much gone to me as well. I'd try to save it as suggested above, but it doesn't have much in the way of energy reseves to help it recover. I also agree that you need to buy a new one...must get this orchid fetish going.

I agree with all the above (except for Tony's first post! [the second one sounds good though])...

If you put this somewhere where it will get watered, leave it there, and DON'T look at it. Keep it hidden. Check back in about a year, just to see what it is doing... they tend to suprise you. Don't look at it before time, because then you will have the urge to move it somewhere...
