Default Swamp Stick

Hi there everyone.


Does anyone use a swampstick to grow orchids? if you do, what orchids did you mount and how are they doing? do you recommend this as a growing method? any pics to share? thanks in advance!!!

Glad someone else asked! Know of one commercial nursery that does extensive mounting on cyprus boards and thought some adaptation of that might be what you were talking about. Have found cyprus to be a good mount. No experience with anything else that goes by the name swamp stick.

I actually mounted my Bc. nakornpathom silver on a ceramik mount which i bought from a orchid show. its doing quite well roots are healthy no root and its growing active. Haven`t bought the actual swamp thing but its the same principle. I like that you dont have to water as much as with regular mounts, due to the reservoir. Let me know how this company is if you order, I might get some more.

I'm growing a Phalaenopsis wilsonii on a clay wine cooler cylinder and it seems to like it quite a bit.
