Question Dimorphorchis Lowii........aka why do I keep buying these types of orchids (LOL)

Hello again.

I'd like to start off by thanking everyone for their invaluable advice on my recent purchase of the gramm. speciosum.

So, since evidently I love torturing myself, I just purchased a dimorphorchis lowii (a seedling). Anyone grow this? Culture suggestions/comments welcome!!

Thanks in advance.

boy oh boy you do love to torture yourself. ( just noticed the thread )
Dimorphorchis like warmth fairly shady & humidity. I have mine growing upside down on slabs of wood whilst people in Malaysia have them growing in pot's with chunks of charcoal. Even then it is a difficult plant to grow. I have had some plants of both D.lowii & D.rossii for approx.4 years now & they are veeeeeeeeeery slow growing. They are flowering size but I have still have not flowered them. Good luck with them anyway

Bit rich for me Dorothy - mine were a lot cheaper but not established. Actually I might be tempted to get another one either lowii or rossii & putting it on one of the fruit tree's in the nursery just to see how it goes. A lot of our Staurochilus, Acampes etc are growing on Mango tree's & are virtually taking over.
If that is Fischers site he has some nice stuff but $$$$$$$

I know .. it is an investment ..
I just found the sites in the USA to purchase them .. it's up to an individual's choice as whether it is worth the amount they are asking for
