Hi All, I have posted this on the classified section but have gotten no response. I hope I’m not delving into territory that is inappropriate, but m getting desperate. I belong to no orchid groups around my area, so I feel this is my best recourse. I am dismally failing at cultivating my Angraecum magdalenae. I bought them from Equagenera at Christmas time and I am doing them no favors. I feel they are reaching a critical point and I want to rehome them to someone who is will in to take on this task. I am most interested in trading them for a Cattleys purpurata, but really just want them to have a good home. I don’t intend to make a profit off them. There are 3 and they are blooming size. I am also a failure at uploading pictures so....I’m sorry, but you will have to adopt these without. I would just like you to pay shipping. PM me if you are interested.

I can't jump in and rescue these plants, I already have two Angcm. magdalenae and I am just out of room for more plants. Mine are doing OK (not spectacularly, but they do bloom) so let me share my conditions... other Board participants can provide similar conditions, and might be able to give a good home to this lovely species (in bloom now at my house... night-fragrant, relatively long lasting flowers)
I grow mine outside (coastal southern California) - so they tolerate the chill of what passes for winter here. They are native to Madagascar at elevations such that they may experience frost, 1700-2000 m. They also have no problem with summer heat, but likely benefit from cooling at night - I grow them relatively shady. I have had best results growing in a basket (rather than pot), summer daily watering but rapid drying. Keep a little drier in winter, just about the same as everything else. So... for those who can supply these conditions, I heartily recommend this species. (Pretty much anybody in relatively coastal California as far north as San Francisco, should be able to grow these outside with no problem)

Hope this brings some attention to your offer! These should grow well in cool-temperate areas, I can see where you'd have a challenge in Texas unless you have an indoor area that is on the cool side.
