Thanks ES!

pH 6.5 with daily low ppm fertilizer injection.

This is officially the last time I ever think about pH in relation to my orchids.

if only that were true

i took Chem 1, 2, and organic chemistry in college when i was going to be an engineer...20+ years, and about 1,937 other things i had to learn as a Trial attorney and my science brain is buried in mental dust.

i also have a new born and got 52 minutes of sleep on saturday (according to my fitness watch lol)

so, i am spread a bit thin and lack the fortitude, mental or otherwise to even look up that school let alone sign up.

i will end up re-learning it all bc that is the way i am with challenges but not today lol...i lost my damn coffee 4 times today

Clawhammer - 7.4 is not all that high and won't cause trouble with orchids. Minerals might be absorbed slightly more effectively if it were lower, but most people provide far more with fertilizer than necessary, so your plants are likely getting enough. I wouldn't bother adjusting my pH if it were 7.4.

But - with low buffering capacity, the pH likely drops a lot when you add fertilizer. I suggest you measure the pH of your mixed fertilizer solution. It might surprise you.

Congrats on the new born!!!

the 52 minute sleep thing is truly a bear. But, holy cow - loosing the coffee four times in not good. I'm sure you and the 'better half' will be experiencing this for awhile, eh? At least you can say to the grandkids (one day when they ask grandpa why he sleeps so much): "walk with me, and I'll tell you a story."
