Default Orchid appraisal: What is a fair price for this?

Hello all,

My birthday is coming up and I’m thinking I found a present that I might get myself. It is a division of a rare Cattleya clone called Mrs. J. Leeman “Lows”.

What is a fair price for this? I think it might count as an antique. It is a make an offer kind of thing so I want to know what a reasonable value would be. It has 5 bulbs and looks to be blooming size.

Hard to say! Price is in the 'eye of the beholder'.

Sometimes, priceless - can't put a value on something.

I can see a Rlc. Mrs. J. Leeman thread in OrchidBoard!!!!! Amazing.

If the cultivar is 'Low', then put single quotes for 'Low'. I'm fine with "Low", but 'Low' is the right way of typing it.

Also - check out page 28 of Click Here.

But ------ just to test the waters, I'd probably offer maybe 300 aussie dollars to start with.

Not sure where you are bidding on this, but you migh call Dave Off at Waldor Orchids, and ask for his opinion as to fair value.

Caution: Waldor charges fairly high prices for classic and rare orchids. I have seen them list plants that I purchased for $50-75 each at $125+ on Ebay.
