BD ----- thanks so much for your time with mentioning all those excellent methods that you learned. This I'm sure can help a lot of other growers (myself included) cut down on or even avoid the potential issues. Really greatly appreciated.

I think that's really good that your paphs bloom about the same time each year. It may well be seasonal - especially since you keep getting that same pattern.

I agree about light being too bright for say delenatii and maybe vietnamense too. My small vietnamense plants have been able to handle gentle/mild direct morning sun - but would likely be destroyed by direct late morning sun. So I put them in a particular spot in the growing area that only gets the gentle morning sun.

That's awesome how there is a paph nursery close to you.

I'd say not keeping it wet enough is probably number one issue. Your medium, for whatever reason, isn't staying as moist as it should. Second, are you using rain water or RO with it? No idea what your water is like, but they sure don't like my tap water here.

I have a Paph delenatii that wasn't doing well when I first got it, and it sulked for a couple of years. In with all the other paphs and phrags that grew and bloomed. Couple of years ago, it grew a spike, started to form the bloom, then just stalled. Once I upped the moisture after that, it now blooms.
