Thanks very much for mentioning that. After you showed the image of your device, I took at look on ebay sites to see if I could find similar. There appears to be a similar model --- probably the same, but re-badged.

I ordered one just a moment ago, just so that I can test it out to see how it performs. That one is called 'Automatic-Drip-Irrigation-Plant-Kit-Self-Watering-Can-Timer-System-Indoor-Garden'. If the motor/pump section works nicely, it might be possible to use a micro-controller with time-clock module and battery back up to drive its pump. This should allow the watering schedule to be customised real nicely.
