Havent seen any political ads myself ... Apparently I don't show enough interest to get targeted by those. .

Another thing that could help...remove the name of the city you live in and go with something like "SE Wisconson".

I use "Heartland of Florida" and I don't get/see any political ads because that's not the name of a town/city here..it's a regional "name" like "The Sunshine Coast", "The Golden Mile", or The Space Coast".

Political ads can't find you if they don't know where you are (hehehehe).

If you do this, do it while you delete your cookies.

I don't think it's really relevant that other members know the city/town any of us live in from our profiles.
I don't think these ads will follow anyone if we tell our town/city in a post.

Just install adblock plus on either chrome or mozilla, dont think Edge and IE have any ad block system. Opera and maxthon is another alternatives. Maxthon is a light weight browser, but it does comes with some neat features.

They know where you live because your Internet service provider tells them.

Odd...I'm on numerous political sites and I get a number of "newsletters" and yet, I have never seen a political ad on here. With that said, I also don't really pay attention to them so it's quite possible I just missed them. I think the ads are worse on many other sites so, for me, it's not a big deal over here.

If you ever spend any time on a news/political site...the ads are overwhelming and the pop-ups are beyond annoying. And this happens even with my pop-up blockers turned on! Thanks for the heads up on the ad blocker...will be installing it immediately.

I get ads for items I've already shopped for.

Bet they'd pay a fortune for an algorithm that accurately PREDICTS what I'm going to buy.

You can remove/change many of them.

***BRB, have to log out to see them.***

Click "x" in the corner of the ads if there is one. Click on "Stop seeing this ad". Next choose between Repetitive, Inappropriate and Irrelevant. You'll get new different ads.

Ya wanted to know what ads are really b*tches (don't know if ir proper to spell that out completely) are those animated ads..the ones that have movement in them.

Talk about slowing down an already slow navigating.
Or logging-in. Oh the fun I just has cause of them.

Oh well.
