Tips for posting Photos

We've recently noticed that you have to have 5 posts before you can add photos, I've added a warning of that to the top of this thread now.

I notice your post above was your 6th, so it's possible you can now do it. Can you try again.

Are you sure about the 5 required posts before you can load pics? I am certain that I was able to load pics on my 2nd or 3rd post using the paperclip / attachment icon on the message post. I thought that you had to have 5 posts before you can post a URL, which is what spammers do, but attaching pics were open to me before the 5 posts were in, I am almost sure.
Also, if you get an error message on the upload try this; I found that if I load one pic at a time, it will work. This keeps the file from being overwhelmingly large, which is what is throwing the error message. I just upload one or two pics at a time, then I don't get the message. It is a pain this way, but hey - it's all in the name of Orchid Love!

It seems to be something that some new users find and others find they can post pics. It seemed for a while that everyone new needed 5, then it seemed to be allowing some people, now people are reporting they are unable to again

Well then, I guess everyone can just forget my post - I didn't know I had received special treatment! Thanks for clearing this up.

Not really cleared up but if new users with less than 5 posts are having problems at least we know why

How is your weather in the UK? We are finally getting some cool temps, but it was still over 50 degrees (F) today. The weather is crazy, and as a social worker I can diagnose that!

We've started getting snow in parts of the country but not here yet. We had our first real frost on Sunday morning and it was icing up again last night, but was a bit warmer this morning

I realize why you guys limit picture posting to new posters, but part of the reason I've joined this forum is to get immediate help on my phals. one has spots on the leaves, and I don't know if its diseased or had an issue with direct light. one has spots on the remnants of a spike that had already been cut, and is in dire need of repotting - though its still blooming on its newer spike, and I'd like to know if I should go ahead and repot in spite of it blooming.
for all three issues, I'd like to post pictures to show what I'm talking about, and I can't. while the three posts (including this one) that I've made have been for topics that I wanted or needed to make a post about anyway, I find that I still need to make two more posts before I can address the issues that originally brought me to this board. I'm sure I can hunt and find something else to post about...hopefully whatever I find is still meaningful and isn't what may be considered spam.
at any rate, I wanted to make you aware that this has brought a new problem to your new posters, and ask if there's a way to compromise. I just want a bit of help, and it seems like an awful lot of work to get it.

I think you can upload photos directly to a post usin the attachment (paper clip) button. Or, just make a few more posts, only need five.

We were being inundated with spam, so the five post requirement was added to help deter that.
