Default Agressive spammers.

Ok, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but spammers have begun to get really agressive! Ususally you would see one random reply to a thread once a few weeks, well today, I found eight NEW threads started by one spammer! I immediately gave all eight infractions! This makes a total of 10 spammers in three days! I also wanted to post this to encourage you all to be vigilant in this constant fight against spammers!

I got on here one day and found several posts from a spammer. I couldn't believe it! Keep laying that smack down on them. Maybe they will give up and move along.

It's a relatively new tactic. I work for a law firm, and of all the people you want to spam it would not be us. That being said, we've been blasted for the past 6 months with emails from one particular spammer requesting our services from various over seas locations. They have been quite deligent and will email every attorney and every office personel in hopes of getting information.

It's sad that they targeted us, the fed's are now working on it, lol...

Yeap, keep reporting them, we have zero tolerance of spammers here! A moderator will come along and delete and ban anyone they agree is a spammer (which in reality is 99.99% of what gets reported).

I actually discovered recently that one of my bosses used to be a spammer he had a business and would purposefully post adds on every forum he could find as many times as possible. He would give up on a forum if they repeatedly banned him, but he said amazingly most didn't.

The problem with the sort like we had yesterday is that it is a spam bot that just keeps re-registering with new names and posting again and again from different IP addresses each time. It could even be in viral form... folks get a virus and whenever they are on-line the virus (does nothing bad on their machine) connects to forums and creates the pre-programmed spam. I understand that there are viruses out there that do that sort of thing, and they are next to impossible to stop because once they are launched they just keep going

Anyway, thanks to all the vigilant folks who keep reporting the spam to us... we will keep deleting it and keep this forum as free as we can from it.

Yup, you are correct. The kind I've seen here are bot spammers, not actual people. They do tend to carry computer virus' if you go to their web URL's. Unfortunately, unless a government body takes an interest and tracks down the responsible computer(s), there is nothing that can be done about bot spam.

It's unfortunate that some choose to spam for a living . . .
