I've been meaning to comment on this for a while. I've been on the internet since before the internet was cool, which means I've been on a whole lot of message boards and fora on various subjects. And I have to say, I have always been pleasantly surprised at the level of decorum and politeness on this board. Those of you who have been around a while know how bad things can (and usually do) get on message boards. The majority of the time it's just a mild misunderstanding that quickly escalates into a full-blown flame war, complete with factions forming, and hateful hyperbole and paranoid accusations being thrown around. I had pretty much come to expect that sort of thing as an inevitable part of being online... Until I came here. Kudos to the moderators, but my hats off even more to the people who participate and help to keep this place a pleasant and friendly place to come and learn and share info about our common interest. Orchids.
Thanks!

Well that harasser kept contacting me. she sent me 500 text message the past month for 3 different numbers and through gmail that was harder to bloc.
She called from her work number which appears to be some University and I contacted the HR dept and provided copies of messages and call logs. They took the issue seriously and they are having a meeting with ehr today.
I went to teh NYPD and made an harassment report but that was frustrating. It was almost I had to convince the officer I was a victim of harassment and he was taking it lightly. She has been looking up my facebook profile to see if I am dating someone else.
It is really hard to stop someone doing this.

It is very tiring.
I have not seen her in 2 years and I was straightforward with her that I was not interested in a relationship.

So sorry to hear that Stafano.

This recent case which caused Sue to bump the thread was unrelated to yours. If you do get any more through OB though let us know straight away.

I hope you can get past this soon and the NYPD and other bodies will take it seriously and help.

Thumbs up

Thanks...this is definitely a joint-effort between our mods and members.

The mods have methods for removing nonsense and more but if it weren't for the fantastic members keeping an eye out for the bad stuff it would be a much harder task for us

We are very thankful to all our members that such behavior is so rare here. As Sue has said we can remove it when it happens, but we are very thankful to everyone for keeping this place a very pleasent one. And when something does happen that needs dealing with our users are very quick to let us know so we can act.

Thankyou to everyone for making this such a great site

I am very sorry to hear that there was an issue. I have been members of other forums and I have witnessed nasty behaviour. One of the reasons I leave them. There is enough negativity in peoples lives. I would like to thank the members and moderators because this is a very friendly forum and everyone is so helpful. I would hate to see it go down hill. Stefano, keep on in there. That girl needs help, make people listen to you, 2 years is 2 years too long. There are scary people out there.
