Several years ago a member from a forum I belong too, discovered the website was data mining every time members loaded a webpage. The site owner had software on the server running in the background. This caused the forum to be extremely slow.

Not saying Marty does this on purpose. I think, with the limited knowledge I have, that malware on a server can cause the same problem.

For what it’s worth. I still don’t get warnings from F-secure. Running Windows 11 with the latest updates, F-secure gets updated twice a day and scans the PC twice a day. Solely surfing with Google Chrome.

Another note, if you find yourself logged off... make sure that you're reaching Orchid Board at https://orchidboard.com ... sometimes the emails have the http:// version and you may find yourself not logged in and not even able to log in. The https:// version works fine.

I never did experience any virus warnings of any kind during these past days since this all started. but I did have occasions when the OB was loading very, very slowly. Then, it would seem to get better, then slow again, and finally late last night (EST), the site wouldn't open at all. I thought oh, no, this is it, but thankfully this morning, it opened promptly and seems perfectly normal so far.

We'll see how things go, but I'm very grateful to those of you who are working on a backup plan. I am not tech-savvy at all, but if there's anything I can do, please let me know.
Mountaineer - Thanks for the suggestion; but no I have not tried to login with the old credentials. Things are working now (although slowly), so I plan to continue with the new setup.

It appears the virus issue has been resolved. I guess by the man behind the curtain we aren't supposed to pay attention to. I'll be unsticking this thread at end of the week. Meanwhile, carry on...

It's loading rapidly now. Was slow 6 hours ago.
