OrchidRoots has a site on FB where they can get info to people... that's how a few of us were able to stay informed when their site went down.
I’ll name it OrchidBoard Members. I’m sure I can change the name later on if needed.

Fantastic. When people want to join, they should identify themselves with their OB names since FB usernames are different. I'm not very familiar with FB, but hopefully there's a way.

I’ll figure it out.

I have it up and running but I still have to figure out some settings, write a short welcome post etc. That’s why the group still is hidden.

Hmmm I think an hour ago I wrote I was going to bed

Is there someone out there, preferably a board admin/mod, who wants to be moderator in this group. Someone living in a different time zone would be perfect.

Nite night!
I'd consider sharing the duties, too many balls in the air to be the only one.

And the Vipre free trial wanted to uninstall Bitdefender.
So the only this is if you have more options in your Bitdefender than I have.

My 2c analysis, looks like the dns registration for the faunatopsites.com domain (which is referenced by an ad) expired on April 28. I'm guessing that after some delay (1 month), the dns queries were directed to an "expired-domain" dns server; this probably happens automatically at the registrar. Expired domains are made to point to dummy servers that return no content (pltraffic36.com in this case), and this makes some of the security products suspicious. This doesn't feel malicious to me, but I'm not an expert in this area.

Ideally the offending ad would just be removed, but who knows if that's possible to do at this point.

As a not-too-highly-tech kinda person, your explanation seems plausible. Because yes, when I tried to go faunatopsites website that's what I got was an expired domain. I'm far from being an expert in any field, and "ideally" the owner of Orchid Board does have the tech savvy and should have already dealt with this. However, all I can do is guess and warn folks what my limited view shows. Thank you MCD...you are obviously more tech savvy than I.

Email me Blueszz, and let's chat. Pretty sure you have my email addy.

---------- Post added at 09:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:52 AM ----------

We had this convo before a ways back... what to do if SHTF and Orchid Board went "poof!" At that time four members sent me their email address to stay in contact if that happened. And of course it always could because we don't have a webmaster or top admin or whatever you call it who always responds in crisis.

Same offer applies to keep your email on a list if you want. Just PM it to me and I'll add it. I do have the ability to see the emails folks signed up with, IF you still use the same email address, but I have to jump thru hoops to see each one, so to PM me is much easier.
