I'm in south Louisiana, also zone 9a, so maybe our conditions are similar. Mine is outdoors most of the time, I try to hose everything on mounts (90% of my orchids) once a day unless it's cool/overcast or it rains...which it does a lot. It seems pretty happy in the heat and humidity (though these are supposedly 'intermediate' growing), and has gone from dime-sized to biscuit-sized in pretty fast time.
