That picture is my Cattleya Penny Kuroda. It's growing like wildfire but has yet to produce a flower! I had a sheth on it that stayed empty for MONTHS before slowly dying off but the plant itself is very happy
I console myself with the thought that this sometimes happens with sheaths and it was nothing I did

Still waiting!

I have almost everything in aliflor and clear pots. I'm not actually following the S/H protocol but close enough I have my paphs in a paph mix and vandas and a few others are free-hanging or in baskets.

I am still struggling with getting the first vanda I bought (a NOID) to "come back". Something happened in last years growth and it looks lousy. It spiked with only one flower on a very short spike Since then, I've been trying all sorts of changes to kick-start it back into shape. Nothing seems to be working...but this morning I was reading an interesting article in the AOS Orchids magazine which is about growing in S/H...and our friend Ray ( www.firstrays.com ) is in the article!
As I was reading, a thought popped into my head and I decided to go with it...I took my NOID vanda with roots barely attached to a wood basket out of the basket and potted it in aliflor and a clear pot. I figured...nothing else is working and if it doesn't do something good soon, it's garbage anyway, so "why not?"

I'll let you guys know if I see any improvement
