Dear Andy,
Ascocendas are more forgiving with their light than the true vandas. Yet they have smaller flowers. I grow quite alot of Ascocendas here at my store. I believe that your orchid is a gold or a yellow. I could only find Ascdas. that had 'butterfly' in a cross. Some were gold and others a yellow. A very pretty flower.
I suggest to use Dyna-Gro. I am a true blue Dyna-Gro gal. I bet I could even make a commercial for them I believe in their product so strongly. Dyna-Gro has worked wonders for me.
To look up the color of your orchid, I got under 'google' and then I typed in 'Ascocenda Butterfly' and then researched some of the links. You can look up most orchids for their picture that way.
