I have never seen a seed pod delivered here at our garden center, must have been overlooked when the vendors put an order together or ahhhh could have been a disgruntle employee that wanted to get back at the boss..lol. Did you cut the pods back? If you do propagate it; it will take approximately 3-4 months. Here is a good source on propagating for first timers, either for green or dry pods. Definitely a great buy I would say.
