Depends on what you mean... Most of the red phals (perhaps all of them, I'm not an expert) are derived from species that have thick waxy blooms. I assume that is what you mean by shiny...

If red/purple is your thing, then look into some of the newer 'harlequin' type breeding. If I know what you mean by silky (like a standard white?). I haven't seen anything in that line of breeding that I would call 'red'. Purple or magenta, or deep pink, maybe.
