ForestNymph,

I think that it is probably a good idea to keep the plant in the pot with the moss, given your growing situation. This will aid in keeping a little more humidity and moisture where vandas need it most. Vanda roots do need to dry between waterings, so watch those roots carefully so that if they start to turn on you, you can correct the problem quickly by removing the moss. From what you've said, I don't think this will be an issue for you, but I thought I'd throw that in here too.

I commend you for trying to grow a vanda so far north, and I wish you the best of luck.
