I have found that I have to use rainwater on mine or else they will turn brown and drop leaves. I mist them every day and moisten the medium. Mine came in hanging baskets with at least the top layer spaghnum moss and they dry out in warm or dry weather. I've had good luck with them now that I've stopped with our hard local well water.
