Default Masdevallia veitchiana

Ok, so here is my Masdevallia veitchiana that finally bloomed for me... it is growing in a hot 32°C. This species naturally comes from elevations of 2200m to 4000m, with temperatures ranging from 3°C to 23°C...

I find that in order to grow a high-elevation orchid in heat, the plant has to be placed in VERY indirect sun, have an adequate amount of available moisture, and plenty of air circulation. If any factor is left out, the plant will succumb to rot, too much light, or dry out.

I hope that this will inspire you all to start growing the higher-elevation orchids like Masdevallia and many others in your "unfavorable conditions"!
